HP Pavilion 14 Chromebook now down to £229 in the UK

You can cut the price of the just announced HP Pavilion 14 Chromebook by eight per cent thanks to the voucher code VC8ALL (which is valid until 28 April). The device was only announced a few days ago in the UK and was launched earlier this year in the US.

Its list price stands at £249 but the discount shaves its SRP by £20. The device comes with free delivery and is a fairly powerful one. It runs on a dual-core Intel Celeron 847 processor clocked at 1.1GHz and 2MB cache, with 4GB of RAM (upgradable to 8GB), a 16GB SSD and a 14in display with a resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixel.

Other features include two Altec Lansing speakers, HP TrueVision HD Webcam, an island-style keyboard, an Ethernet port, three USB ones, HDMI, Wi-Fi, a card reader and Google Chrome OS.

HP calls it the world’s first full-size Chromebook and it is indeed the biggest model on the market, bigger than the Samsung Series 3, the Acer C7 and the Lenovo Thinkpad X131. It weighs 1.8Kg and is 21mm thick. Note that you also get a two- year subscription to Google Drive (100GB) which is worth around £80 by its own.
