MSI CX61 laptop available from £600

There’s probably an unwritten law saying that powerful laptops should be bulky. That would explain why the MSI CX61 (otherwise known as the CX61 0NF-638UK), stands at 2.4Kg. The laptop is available from Saveonlaptops for £600 with a free copy of Webroot Antivirus and BullGuard Internet Security (a 12-month subscription).

The CX61 is powered by an Intel Core i7-3630QM Quad Core processor clocked at 2.4 GHz based on the Ivy Bridge Architecture with 6MB L3 cache and capable of overclocking to 3.4GHz.

There’s also 8GB of RAM, a 1TB hard disk drive, a DVD writer, a Geforce GT645M GPU with 2GB of dedicated memory, Windows 8 OS, a 15.6in display with a 1,366 x 768 resolution, Wi-Fi, a GbE port, a card reader, a webcam, Bluetooth 4.0, HDMI/VGA connector, up to four hours battery life and three USB port.

The laptop comes with a dedicated numeric keypad, SRS PC TruSurround XT technology and what MSI calls a curvaceous design. Other laptops that come with a quad-core processor include the Asus N55 and the MSI GE70.
