The HP Pavilion G6-2210SA laptop is currently on offer from Currys for £300. Not a bad price for such a laptop as we will see shortly although it must be highlighted that this is a refurbished product that comes with a full one year warranty.
It runs on a dual-core Intel Core i5-3210M processor clocked at 2.5GHz with a 3.1GHz TurboBoost and 3 MB L3 cache (based on the Ivy Bridge architecture). There’s also 6GB of RAM (part of it being shared with the Intel HD 4000 Graphics chip onboard).
The rest of the feature set includes a massive 1TB hard disk drive, a 15.6in 1,366 x 768 pixel display (Brightview as HP calls it), a DVD writer, three USB ports, a card reader, Wi-Fi, a HP TrueVision HD webcam, VGA & HDMI ports, Altec Lansing speakers with Dolby Advanced Audio, an island-style keyboard with a dedicated numeric keypad as well as a six-cell battery that can last up to six hours.
The laptop is fairly bulky though with a 36mm thickness and a weight of 2.5Kg. Note that you can either get Norton 360 for £30 or Microsoft Office Home and Student 2013 for £89 when purchased with this laptop.
