Carphone Warehouse sells the Nokia Lumia 520 smartphone for as little as £7.50 per month. That’s slightly more expensive (by 50p) than the previous lowest contract price from T-Mobile but this one is an altogether more balance offer.
It is available on Talkmobile, which runs on Vodafone, and the contract lasts two years; that’s a total cost of ownership of £180, not bad given that the phone by itself costs £105. The package includes 175 minutes, 500 texts and 250MB data, which should be enough for a light user (and again at around £4, is well worth it).
The Nokia Lumia 520 is the cheapest Windows Phone 8 smartphone on the market by a fair margin. It runs on a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC clocked at 1GHz, the MSM8260a, with 512MB of RAM, 8GB onboard storage, a 4in 800 x 480 pixel display, a rear 5-megapixel camera, a microSD card slot, the ability to use gloves on the display, Corning Gorilla Glass plus an array of Nokia features.
This includes Nokia Music, Cinemagraph, HERE drive, Here Maps and HERE transit (the last three being navigation apps). You can read the review of the Nokia Lumia 520 Windows Phone 8 smartphone here.
