Sony Xperia SP smartphone now available from £250

You can bag a recently released Sony Xperia SP, which sits between the Sony Xperia T and the Xperia Z, for a mere £250, which is not a lot of money for what it offers. The smartphone is available on PAYG from T-Mobile and you should be able to use it on EE and on Orange.

The handset is powered by a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM9860Pro SoC clocked at 1.7GHz (which makes it one of the fastest dual-core models on the market), with a 4.6in 1,280 x 720 pixel display powered by the Mobile Bravia Engine 2 and with an overlay of Corning Gorilla Glass 2.

Other features include NFC, an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 2,300mAh battery that can power it for a whopping 18 hours, Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, 1GB of RAM, 8GB onboard storage and a microSD card slot.

At £250, it is also one of the cheapest 4G models on the market, probably just as cheap as the Huawei Ascend P1 LTE, also on sale at T-Mobile for £10.50 per month on a two-year contract.

You can check out our hands-on of the Sony Xperia SP here. The smartphone was on preorder at Expansys for £340, albeit SIM Free and you can buy it from Phones4U for £25 per month on a two year contract.
