Samsung Galaxy S tablet now available from a mere £119

Enter TDX-JWPX at checkout to get a £10 discount off the price of the Samsung Galaxy S tablet which is the non-smartphone version of the original Samsung Galaxy S launched three years ago. The price of this device falls to a mere £109 at Tesco online (you can avoid postage fees by collecting instore).

The Galaxy S Tab is obviously an old piece of hardware which can nonetheless offer quite a few useful features (although one would argue that a cheaper Acer Iconia Tab B1 would be a better choice).

Still, if you are a Samsung fan, note that the Galaxy S Tab has an 5in display with a 800 x 480 pixel resolution, a single-core Cortex-A8 SoC clocked at 1GHz (possibly the Exynos 4), 8GB onboard storage, a microSD card slot, Samsung’s Media Hub App, Android 2.2 Froyo (no upgrade to Android 4.0 ICS though), Wi-Fi, 512MB of RAM, Bluetooth, a rear and a front camera and up to 60 hours battery life.

The tablet, whose official name is the YP-G70CW Galaxy S WiFi 5.0, also comes with a number of applications developed by Samsung. The Galaxy S tablet competes against Apple's iPod Touch family.

Desire worked at ITProPortal right at the beginning and was instrumental in turning it into the leading publication we all know and love today. He then moved on to be the Editor of TechRadarPro - a position he still holds - and has recently been reunited with ITProPortal since Future Publishing's acquisition of Net Communities.
