Better than the Galaxy S3? LG Optimus 4X smartphone available from £11 per month

You can purchase one of the remaining LG Optimus 4X HD smartphones from from as little as £11 per month on O2, a price that includes 50 minutes, unlimited texts and 100MB data on a two year contract.

That's a total cost of ownership of £264, which is around £15 more than the cost of the smartphone by itself and around 20 per cent less than the cheapest Samsung Galaxy S3 on the market (and less than half the price of the Samsung Galaxy S4).

There's also a slightly more expensive package that doubles the number of minutes to 100, gives 5,000 texts and most importantly unlimited data for £15 on Three.

The device was launched more than a year ago but as for most LG smartphones this one also took a long time to go on sale in the UK by which others like the S3 had already carved a sizable market share.

It runs on a quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 SoC clocked at 1.5GHz, has 1GB of RAM, a 4.7in IPS LCD display with a 1,280 x 720 pixel resolution, 16GB onboard storage with a microSD card slot, an 8-megapixel camera and Android 4.0 ICS.
