HTC 8X smartphone available from as little as £11 per month

The HTC 8X Windows Phone 8 smartphone was unveiled back in September last year and is currently the cheapest high-end Windows Phone 8 handset on the market, on par with the Nokia Lumia 720.

The device is currently available from O2 (via for as little as £11 per month on a two year contract with 50 minutes, unlimited texts and 100MB. That is a total cost of ownership of £264 (not unlike the LG Optimus 4X HD we saw earlier today). Up your monthly spend to £16 per month to get unlimited data, 5000 texts and 100 minutes on Three.

The smartphone - which faces competition from the Samsung Ativ S, the Nokia Lumia 820 and the Lumia 920 - comes with a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC, the MSM8960, clocked at 1.5GHz.

It has 1GB of RAM, 16GB onboard storage, a 4.3in super LCD 2 display with a 1,280 x 720 resolution, Gorilla Glass 2, glare-reducing laminated surface, Wi-Fi, full HD video recording, Beats Audio technology and an ultrawide-angle front facing camera.
