Sony sells the Vaio T11 Ultrabook, which was launched a year ago, on its outlet website for £630, a saving of about 20 per cent off its suggested retail price .
The device (SVT1112C047S.CEK.A) is a refurbished model which means that it was returned either because of a change of mind from the customer or because of a minor issue. Once it has been put back in shape, it was then repackaged and is sold with the standard manufacturer warranty.
This model – which fits on an A4 sheet - comes with a powerful Intel Core i7-3517U which is based on the Ivy Bridge architecture, is clocked at 1.9GHz (overclockable to 3GHz), has two cores, an integrated Intel HD Graphics 4000 video solution and 4MB L2 cache.
Other features include Windows 8 Pro OS, 8GB of RAM, a 500GB hard disk drive (complemented by a small 24GB system SSD), an 11.6in display with a 1,366 x 768 pixel resolution, a HD webcam, Intel HM77 Express, up to seven hours battery life and an array of connectivity options (Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, HDMI, VGA, GbE Ethernet, USB 3.0).
Sony also included a Rapid Wake + Eco solution that allows the laptop to resume from sleep almost instantly and boosts standby time to almost 30 days.
