Phones4U is selling the HTC One on a 12-months contract at Vodafone for a mere £47 per month with an upfront fee of £49; that's a total cost of ownership of £613 over the duration of the contract or an effective cost of £51.08 per month. The device comes with three months free Wi-Fi, unlimited minutes, unlimited texts and 1GB of data which should good enough for a medium user.
The device, which competes with the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the LG Optimus 4X HD, comes with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 SoC clocked at 1.7GHz, 2GB of RAM, 32GB onboard storage (but no microSD card slot), an Ultrapixel camera (with bigger pixels that can apparently get three times more light), a dedicated HTC ImageChip 2 chip, a 4.7in full HD display (yielding the industry's highest pixel density), full HD video recording, Wi-Fi, HDMI, GLONASS, LTE connectivity, NFC, Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and HTC Sense 5.0 UI.
HTC also bundled a few of interesting features like an all metal casing, HTC BoomSound which was dual frontal stereo speakers powered by Beats Audio, HTC Zoe and HTC Blinkfeed. You can check out our review of the HTC One smartphone here.
