Alba 40in full HD television set for a mere £233

Argos is selling this Alba 40in full HD television set for just under £234, a price that includes 230 Nectar points. This is a brand new product that includes 12-months warranty. Alba, which is owned by Argos, alongside a number of UK consumer electronics brands, is used for a wide range of electrical products.

This particular model, the LC-40GL12E, has three HDMI sockets, a 40in 1,920 x 1,080 panel, a Freeview tuner, a brightness of 300cd/m2, a native contrast ratio of 4,000:1, a SCART socket, a USB port, a D-SUB one, component and composite video sockets and a refresh rate of 60Hz.

It consumes 120W when on and a mere 360mW in stand-by. Aesthetically, it is as bland as it can be; compared to more recent television sets, it has a massive bezel which make it resemble more of a digital photo frame than anything else. Ditto for its stand although being that big means that it is more stable as well.
