HP Pavilion G6 laptop with 1TB hard drive and an AMD chip for £259

If you want a fairly powerful laptop with plenty of storage capacity and don't mind owning a refurbished device, then check out the HP Pavilion G6 model (G6-1306SA to be precise) which is currently on sale on eBay via Tesco's outlet for £259, a price that includes delivery but no Nectar points. Argos also sells a 1TB Dell Inspiron N5040 laptop here for £270.

Surprisingly enough, you don't get the odd Brazos based E-series APU but instead a full-fledged AMD A4-3305M CPU, a dual-core part clocked at 1.9GHz with an AMD Radeon HD6490G GPU.

There's also 4GB of RAM (part of which is shared with the GPU), a massive 1TB hard disk drive, a 15.6in Brightview display with a 1,366 x 768 pixel resolution, three USB ports, up to four hours battery life, a webcam, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, a card reader, a HDMI port, Windows 7, a DVD writer and a few handy one-touch buttons.

Sadly, there's no dedicated numeric keypad and it is likely that you will have to boost the amount of onboard memory to 8GB to make the most out of this laptop. Note that an Intel Core i5 version of this laptop with 6GB of RAM is available from Currys for £320.
