The Lenovo IdeaPad A2109 tablet is currently on sale at Amazon for £169.97 including delivery. The device is similar to the Google Nexus 7 tablet but packs a few more goodies.
You get the same Nvidia quad-core SoC, the Tegra 3, clocked at 1.3GHz. There's also Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with Lenovo's own Mondrian UI, a 9in 1,280 x 800 pixel display, 1GB of Ram, 16GB onboard storage, micro-HDMI port and microSD card slot, dual microphones and dual speakers (with SRS TruMedia technology), a metal rear, air brushed finish, a rear camera, Wi-FI, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS and up to nine hours battery life.
That said, don't expect it to be as portable as the Nexus 7. A bigger screen means a bigger chassis and as Lenovo opted for a thick bezel, you end up with something that is closer in size to an Apple iPad 3 than an Apple iPad Mini.
Given that you can get a 64GB microSD card for less than £30, you should be able to get a tablet with 80GB storage for around £200. A bargain. Check out our review of the IdeaPad A2107, the smaller version of the A2109, here.
