You can now pick up the Nokia Lumia 520 smartphone from as little as £7 a month on a two year contract. That translates into a total cost of ownership of £168 on T-Mobile via Carphone Warehouse.
You only get 50 minutes and 250 texts though which means that this package would better suit someone who doesn't want to buy a phone outright or wishes to get an additional SIM as well.
Vodafone also announced today that the phone will go on sale on PAYG for £115 with an additional compulsory £10 top up credit which is more expensive than Carphone Warehouse's (note CPW PAYG are usually unlocked). The smartphone is one of our favourite smartphones ever because it combines some pretty incredible functionality and a very attractive price point.
It runs on a dual-core Qualcomm system-on-chip clocked at 1GHz, comes with 512MB of RAM, 8GB onboard storage, a 4in 800 x 480 super-sensitive display, a 5-megapixel rear camera, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, USB, Cinemagraph, Panorama, nearly 15 hours battery life, Nokia Music, Nokia HERE Drive and Transit, a microSD card slot (that can take 64GB microSD cards) but no front facing camera.
