Head over to Amazon if you want to buy the cheapest brand new Apple MacBook Pro laptop on the market. At £835, this model from an Amazon Marketplace seller, CCBA Electronics, is 16 per cent cheaper than the £999 Apple would charge online or offline.
The device runs on the latest Intel processor, a dual-core Core i5 processor clocked at 2.5GHz, with an Intel HD4000 Graphics video solution, a 13.3in display, 4GB of RAM, 500GB hard disk drive and Mac OS X Lion operating system.
The notebook, which carries the ID number MD101/BA, comes in a frustration-free packaging and supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and has an average battery life of up to seven hours. Other features include a Facetime HD webcam, USB 3.0, Displayport and Thunderbolt connectors and a DVD drive. Note that this is the non-retina model which means that its display has a 1,280 x 800 pixel resolution.
As for previous generations, the MacBook Pro comes with a metal chassis and feels (and is built) like a tank. You can check out our review of the 13in Retina Apple MacBook Pro laptop here. Note however that we expect a new version of this laptop when Apple does WWDC later next month as Intel will announce a new processor range – Haswell - in a few weeks' time.
