From Amazon comes the Toshiba Satellite C855-2ET laptop, a feature-laden model that costs only £399.99, a 17 per cent discount off its suggested retail price.
This laptop runs on a third-generation Intel Core i5-3230M processor with HyperThreading and TurboBoost. It means that this dual-core CPU can overclock dynamically from 2.6GHz to 3.2GHz. As expected, it also comes with an Intel HD4000 Graphics GPU that powers a 15.6in TruBrite display with a 1,366 x 768 resolution.
Other notable features include 6GB of RAM, a 760GB hard disk drive, up to four hours battery life, a 1-megapixel webcam, a DVD writer, three USB ports, a HDMI one, a dedicated numeric keypad, SRS Premium Sound HD, Windows 8 and Bluetooth 4.0.
As expected, there is a VGA port plus an Ethernet connector and Toshiba bundled a number of its own applications like Toshiba Face Recognition as well as others like Skype.
Toshiba says that the laptop comes with a "streamlined design" with a "stylish crossline pattern on the lid" with a textured palm rest which makes it posher than it actually is.
