The HP Pavilion G7 laptop is on sale on eBay via Save-On-Laptops for £400 (with free delivery and 400 Nectar points) and comes with some interesting hardware specification. One thing you can't help but notice is its big screen. This laptop has a screen with a 17.3in diagonal (called BrightView) and while that's 11 per cent more than a 15.6in model, it does offer nearly 40 per cent extra pixels thanks to a 1,600 x 900 resolution.
The rest of the specification is what you'd expect an entry-level Core i3 device. It runs on an Intel Core i3-2370M processor clocked at 2.4GHz with 3MB cache and based on the older (but still capable) Sandy Bridge architecture.
Other features include 6GB of RAM, 500GB hard disk storage, Intel HD 3000 Graphics, Wi-Fi, Windows 8, a DVD writer, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, a card reader, a dedicated numeric keypad, a glossy finish, four USB ports (including three USB 3.0), Bluetooth, VGA/HDMI and up to three hours battery life. As expected this laptop is significantly heavier than a 15.6in laptop, weighing in at nearly 3Kg.
