Groupon is selling an Asus VivoTab RT hybrid device (the TF600TG-1B114R) hybrid tablet on behalf of Box.net, for £400 including free delivery. That's a £110 off (or 22 per cent) off its suggested retail price. The offer is on for the next two days and there's a one unit per person limit.
The device comes with an Nvidia Tegra 3 SoC clocked at 1.3GHz with four cores, 2GB of RAM, 64GB onboard storage, a 10.1in IPS display with a 1,280 x 800 pixels, Windows RT with Office 2013 Home and Office, 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity, up to 16 hours battery life (when docked), a keyboard docking station, microHDMI and microUSB ports, a microSD card slot, a front facing 2-megapixel camera and a rear 8-megapixel one.
It is likely that the next generation of Windows RT models will be similar to the HP Envy X2 Hybrid with a full HD display, a removable keyboard and a quad-core SoC based either on the Snapdragon 600 or the Nvidia Tegra 4.
The price cut comes after that of the Dell XPS 10, the Lenovo Yoga 11 and the Microsoft Surface RT, hinting perhaps at a change of strategy from Microsoft. You can read our review of the Asus VivoTab RT hybrid tablet here.
