Amazon has cut the price of its three Kindle Fire devices, the HD, the normal version and the HD 8.9in, selling them for £144, £114 and £214 respectively. These prices will be available until 6pm tonight to celebrate Father's day (which doesn't happen until later this week) and are for the cheapest stock keeping units for each model (lower storage capacity and with special offers).
The first two units have a 7in display with the cheaper one equipped with a 1,024 x 600 pixel resolution and the other one upping it to 1,280 x 800 pixel. The Kindle Fire HD 8.9, on the other hand, has a 8.9in full HD display.
They all come with a TI OMAP system-on-chip; an OMAP4430 clocked at 1.2GHz, an OMAP4460 clocked at 1.2GHz and an OMAP4470 clocked at 1.5GHz.
Other common features include a microUSB port, Wi-Fi, more than 8 hours battery life, free Cloud storage for all Amazon content, Amazon's own Silk browser, integrate speakers (with Dolby Audio technology on the more expensive models). However, bear in mind that none of them have a microSD card display.
