Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini now on preorder for £390

For those looking to get a taste of the Samsung Galaxy S4 without paying an exorbitant fee, Handtec has put the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini smartphone on preorder for £390. As we mentioned here, the device is a mix of Galaxy Mega 5.8, S3 and even S2.

A quick look at the hardware shows that Samsung has been fairly conservative when it comes to the hardware. This 4G LTE smartphone sports what looks like a Qualcomm Snapdragon dual-core SoC, one clocked at 1.7GHz.

Other features include 1.5GB of RAM, 8GB onboard storage, a 4.3in 960 x 540 pixel Super AMOLED display, Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, a 1,900mAh battery, a rear 1.9-megapixel camera, an 8-megapixel rear one plus as for the rest of the recent Samsung handsets, Samsung Knox, S heath, S Travel, S Voice, S Translator and much more.

At nearly £400, the Galaxy S4 Mini is certainly too expensive for what it offers, especially when you consider the fact that smartphones such as the Sony Xperia Z or the HTC One costs around 10 per cent extra and are so much better.

We suspect that the S4 Mini will, like its predecessor, see a rapid fall in its price over the next few months. You can now purchase the Samsung Galaxy S3 mini for as little as £199.
