HTC is one of the five smartphone makers that have unveiled a Windows Phone handset, the others being Samsung, ZTE, Huawei and HTC. The two models currently available are the Windows Phone 8S, its entry level model and the Windows Phone 8X, its high end version.
Expansys sells the latter for £240 SIM Free, that's nearly a third off its original selling price. The device runs on a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8260 SoC clocked at 1.5GHz.
Other features include 1GB of RAM, 16GB onboard storage, a 4.3in Super LCD2 display with a 1,280 x 720 pixel resolution and a Gorilla Glass 2 layer, NFC, GPS, a 1,800mAh battery, Beats Audio technology (which includes an audio amplifier built within the audio jack).
As for the camera unit, it consists of an 8-megapixel model with AF, a BSI sensor (with an F/2.0 aperture), 28mm lens and an LED flash. The front facing unit is a 2.1-megapixel model with a similar aperture size, with a wide angle lens. Both cameras can record movies at full HD resolution.
