We came across the Huawei Ascend G510 smartphone earlier last month when we did a preview and a quick hands-on of this handset. The device is exclusive to Vodafone and the manufacturer has cut its original selling price down to £110, down from £130.
The price doesn't include a compulsory £10 top up voucher (it's a PAYG) and the G510 is locked to Vodafone although unlock codes can be purchased from eBay for less than a fiver.
The phone which we described as being reassuringly heavy, comes with a 4.5in 854 x 480 pixel display, a dual-core SoC (a Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8225Q which is based on the Cortex-A5) clocked at 1.2GHz, a five-megapixel camera with flash, NFC, a microSD card slot, DTS compatibility, a front facing one, Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean with Huawei's own Emotion UI.
Now there's no dearth of capable smartphones under £150 at the moment and the G510 will have to put up with a number of Huawei devices like the Ascend W1 and the Ascend Y300 which are available from around £100 and £70 respectively.
