Deal: £1000 Acer Aspire V3-571G brings Core i7, Blu-ray, full HD display together

If you want to get a laptop that combines both a full HD display, 16GB and a powerful Intel Core i7 processor, options are thin on the ground. Especially if you want to spend less than £1000.

An eBay retailer is currently selling the Acer Aspire V3-571G laptop for £1,000, a price that excludes delivery (£8) but includes 1,000 Nectar points. What do you get for that outlay? Well an awful lot.

A quad-core Intel Core i7 processor, the 3632QM, with 6MB cache and a 2.2GHz clock speed, 16GB of RAM, a 15.6in display with a 1,920 x 1,080 resolution, a dedicated numeric keypad, a 1TB hard disk drive, Windows 8 Home, a Blu-ray drive, a webcam and a dedicated Nvidia Geforce GT730M GPU with 4GB of RAM.

Connectivity and expansion options include four USB ports, Wi-Fi, a card slot, Bluetooth, HDMI, VGA and a gigabit Ethernet port. Don't expect the battery life of this laptop to be particularly impressive and this is still a fairly chunky and heavy piece of equipment. Design-wise, the V3-571G offers a massive palm rest with a glossy/silver finish.
