Mobile phone operator Three has put the Huawei Ascend P2 smartphone on sale on PAYG for a mere £299.99 plus a £10 top up. While it is not as slim as its thinner just announced counterpart, the Ascend P6, the handset still remains, according to company, its best-of-class smartphone.
The Huawei Ascend P2, which was unveiled at Mobile World Congress earlier this year, comes with a quad-core system-on-chip, the HiSilicon K3V2 clocked at 1.5GHz. It has also 2GB of RAM, 16GB onboard storage, a 13-megapixel rear camera, a 4.7in in-cell display with a 1,280 x 720 pixel resolution, LTE capabilities, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a microSD card slot, Corning Gorilla Glass 2, a 2,420mAh battery, BSI sensor, a dedicated camera button, full HD video recording and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with a layer of Emotion UI.
Unlike the Ascend P6, the P2 is compatible with 4G, comes with NFC, has a camera with a higher resolution and can accommodate a 3.5mm port. Altogether, it is a cracking piece of technology that finally brings some much needed competition against the Nexus 4. Check out our hands-on preview of the Huawei Ascend P2 smartphone here.
