In addition to two Ativ-branded tablets, Samsung today also boosted its lineup of Ativ PCs, adding the Ativ Book 9 Plus, the Ativ Book 9 Lite, and the Ativ One 5 Style.
With the addition of Samsung's new HomeSync Lite feature, meanwhile, your new Ativ PCs can be transformed into personal cloud servers, letting users back up and access files, photos, and videos from their smartphones and tablets to the PC at any time.
The Ativ Book 9 Plus includes a 13.3in, 3,200 x 1,800 touchscreen display that can take advantage of the touch-centric Windows 8 operating system. There's Intel HD Graphics 4400, Core i5 or i7 processors, up to 8GB of memory, and up to 265GB SSD. The Ativ Book 9 Plus has two USB 3.0 ports, micro HDMI, mini VGA, and more, as well as a 720p HD camera. Samsung promised 12 hours of battery life, a boot time of six seconds, and a wake-up time of less than a second.
The Ativ Book 9 Lite is similar to the Plus, but has a lower-resolution, 1,366 x 768 touchscreen, a 1.4-GHz quad-core processor, shared graphics, and 4GB of memory. There's also just one USB 3.0 port and about 8.5 hours of battery life. "The Book 9 Lite balances premium features with overall value," Samsung said.
The Plus and Lite both come in "ash black," but there's a white option for the Lite.
For something a little larger, the 21.5in Ativ One 5 all-in-one desktop (above) was designed with Samsung's Galaxy lineup in mind. It features a 1,920 x 1080 display, AMD A6 quad-core processor, shared graphics, 4GB of memory, up to 1TB HDD, and a 720p camera. The One 5 has two USB 3.0 ports and HDMI in/out.
All three gadgets support Samsung SideSync, for easy sharing between PCs and Samsung smartphones.
