Deal: Huawei’s rival to the Galaxy Note 2 goes on sale for £190!

Online retailer iBood is selling the Huawei Ascend G615 smartphone until tonight for £189.95. This is by far the best value for money big-screen smartphone on the market at the moment. It is, in a nutshell, very similar to the Huawei Ascend D Quad that we saw last year at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

iBood's model comes with a quad-core HiSilicon K3V2 SoC clocked at 1.4GHz (based on the Cortex-A9 rather than the Cortex-A7), 1GB of RAM, 8GB of RAM, a 4.5in 1,280 x 720 pixel IPS display, a 2,150mAh battery, Android 4.0 ICS (upgradable to Jelly Bean) with Huawei's very own user interface, a rear 8-megapixel camera with a front facing 1.3-megapixel one (with full HD and HD video recording respectively).

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi (direct and classic), DLNA, AGPS, Dolby Digital Plus audio, Bluetooth, a microUSB port and aGPS. Someone actually compared it to a poor man's Nexus 4 with more expansion capabilities and they might not be that far from the truth. Check out our hands-on of the Huawei Ascend D Quad here.
