Deal: Sony Xperia Z smartphone down to £21 per month

Carphone Warehouse is selling the Sony Xperia Z, which was unveiled earlier this year at CES, for just £21 per month. That's a total cost of ownership of £504, not bad for a phone that's a former flagship model, is a mere six months old and is on sale at Carphone Warehouse for £499.95.

The tariff is available on Vodafone and includes 100 minutes, 100MB data, unlimited texts and 1GB Wi-Fi over BT OpenZone. Users get a free copy of the hit movie Django Unchained plus £22 worth of content to be downloaded from Sony's services (Music Unlimited, Video Unlimited, PlayStation store).

As for phone's features, they are still top-of-the-range; a glass fibre polyamide chassis, a quad-core Qualcomm S4 Pro system-on-chip clocked at 1.5GHz with 4G/LTE capabilities, a 5in full HD display, a 13-megapixel camera, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and uniquely amongst phones already on the market, dust and water resistance.
