Deal: Lenovo IdeaTab A2109A quad-core Android tablet

Quad-core tablets are the way forward especially as Jelly Bean is very likely to be replaced as the current flagship Android operating system, by Key Lime Pie, by the end of the year.

If you want an affordable yet capable tablet, head over to UKDVDR to check out the Lenovo IdeaTab A2109A which is on sale there for £140. This is a quad-core model based on the Nvidia Tegra 3 SoC and clocked at 1.2GHz which is similar to the Google Nexus 7 tablet.

There's also 1GB of RAM, 16GB onboard storage, a 9in 1,280 x 800 pixel display, a front-facing 1.3-megapixel front facing camera, a 3-megapixel rear model, micro-HDMI, micro-USB, a micro-SD card slot, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, two speakers, SRS TruMedia audio enhancement and up to eight hours battery life.

Compared to Google's Nexus 7, its direct competitor, it has an extra camera, an extra connector and an extra expansion slot but it is also thicker (at 11.7mm) and heavier (at 570g).
