Head over to Merimobiles.com if you want to grab a smartphone that looks like a Samsung Galaxy S3, performs like one but doesn't cost as much. At $280 (around £170), the Newman N2 handset comes with some mouth-watering features.
First and foremost, it comes with a quad-core Samsung Exynos 4412 SoC clocked at 1.5GHz with a Mali 400MP GPU. That's the same chip that's inside the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 2. It also comes with 1GB of RAM and 8GB onboard storage (which can be extended to 72GB with an optional 64GB microSD card).
Other features include a 4.7in 1,280 x 720 pixel display with IPS technology and Corning Gorilla glass, GPS, Bluetooth, a rear 13-megapixel camera (like the Galaxy S4), a front-facing 2-megapixel one, a 2,500mAh battery. There aren't many smartphones around that price that offers so much for so little.
Bear in mind that its SoC, for example, is based on the Cortex-A9 architecture rather than the Cortex-A7 or the Cortex-A5 found in many rival handsets.
