Tech City events company 3beards set to expand across UK and into Europe

East London-based content, promotion, and events company 3beards (opens in new tab) has announced an ambitious drive to expand its operations across the UK and into Europe.

The group, which organises popular Tech City get-togethers like Silicon Drinkabout, Don't Pitch Me, Bro, and Digital Sizzle – will hit Amsterdam in August and Prague in September, as well as expanding into Manchester.

"We've spent the past two years working hard to provide the London startup community with the kind of support, access, insight, feedback, connections, exposure and credibility that we hope will enable it to grow, progress and succeed," commented Bryce Keane, co-founder of 3beards.

He added: "Our vision has always been to build strong, inter-connected, start-up communities across Europe that foster closer collaboration. We hope, one day, that you can go to any city in Europe and, if it's Friday and you're in startup, you know you can go along to the Silicon Drinkabout in that location and meet like-minded people from the local tech scene and share ideas."

The news follows a successful trial event held in Copenhagen in June and 3beards has encouraged other local startup companies to get in touch to organise partnerships for their cities - facial hair is always appreciated but is not de rigueur.

For example, the Manchester event will be a collaboration with Shaun Gibson and Doug Ward, co-founders of TechHub Manchester (opens in new tab), another successful networking soirée for budding tech entrepreneurs.
