The Sony Tablet S was the first Android tablet that the company launched and it was followed by two others, the Sony Xperia and the Sony Xperia Z. Carphone Warehouse is clearing out remaining stocks of that two-year old tablet for a mere £199, which might sound a lot until you look at the features.
There's a dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 system-on-chip clocked at 1GHz with 1GB of RAM, 16GB onboard storage, a microSD card slot, a 9.4in 1,280 x 800 pixel display that uses TruBlack technology, a chassis that has a wedged profile, Bluetooth, GPS, 3G connectivity (which means that you can connect to the internet on the move), access to Sony Entertainment Network, a 10.1mm thickness and a weight of just under 600g.
Sony also bundled a 5-megapixel rear camera, PlayStation certification, a front facing VGA one and you can also use it as a universal remote control. The device, otherwise known as the SGPT114GB, has a rated battery life of up to nine hours and runs on Android 4.0 with Sony's own user interface.
