£330 Asus K56CA laptop: An affordable Intel Core i5 model

When engineers at Asus thought out of the sublimely good looking Zenbook, it looks as if they had the K56CA at the back of their minds (or in their back pockets). While this laptop doesn't go as far as the Zenbook in the design, it does borrow some of its features. Argos sells the Asus K56CA laptop via its eBay outlet for £333.94 a price that includes free delivery and 330 Nectar points. This is a refurbished model that comes with a 12-months warranty.

It is powered by a dual-core Intel Core i5-3317U processor clocked at 1.7GHz. That is a third-generation, Ivy Bridge based CPU which integrates an Intel HD Graphics 4000 GPU. This is backed by 4GB of RAM, a massive 750GB hard disk drive spinning at 5,400RPM and a tiny 24GB system SSD. Other features include a HDMI port, a 15.6in screen displaying 1,366 x 768 pixels, Windows 8, a webcam, Wi-Fi, a DVD writer, VGA, three USB ports, Bluetooth 4.0 and a LAN connector.
