Online retailer Expansys revealed that it will be stocking the Sony Xperia Z Ultra from week commencing 13 of September. The smartphone is currently on preorder there for £639, which is a lot even for a top-of-the-range smartphone (or phablet in this case).
The Xperia Z Ultra was unveiled only a few weeks ago and will be the first mainstream device to land in the UK with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 system-on-chip, arguably one of the most powerful SoC around. The latter, known as the MSM8974, is clocked at 2.2GHz.
Sony's first phablet also comes with a 6.4in display with a full HD resolution as well as TRILUMINOS technology and X-Reality. Other features include 2GB of RAM, 16GB onboard storage, 4G functionality, 802.11ac, NFC, a 3,050mah battery, dust-proof and water-resistance (IP55/IP58), an 8-megapixel rear camera and a front-facing 2-megapixel one.
The device will face the soon-to-be-launched Samsung Galaxy Note 3 in what promises to be a battle of epic proportions. For more checkout Sony Xperia Z Ultra: hands-on preview and A closer look at the Sony Xperia Z Ultra.
