A laptop with a very decent hardware configuration, an affordable price tag and brand new on top of that? Where's the catch one might ask. Well other than the colour we're not seeing anything suspect.
The Samsung Series 3 NP350V5C laptop costs just under £300 at UK retailer PC World. Note that this is an online only deal although you can collect it instore. It runs on Windows 8 and is powered by an Intel Core i3-3110 processor, one which comes with two cores clocked at 2.4GHz with 3MB cache and an Intel HD Graphics 4000 (which means that it is a third generation model).
The notebook comes with 6GB of RAM, a 500GB hard disk drive, a DVD writer, a 15.6in display with a resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels plus Samsung's Image Enhanced Engine, Wi-Fi, Gigabit Ethernet, four USB ports including a pair of USB 3.0 models, VGA and HDMI connections plus a card reader. Its 6-cell battery can power the device for up to six hours.
At just over 2.3Kg, it is around 10 per cent heavier than the heaviest Ultrabooks on the market. Still, it is by no means as wieldy as the average laptop from the last decade.
