Deal: £135 Packard Bell netbook with 320GB HDD

Acer-owned Packard Bell is known for its quirky designs and although the name no longer rings a bell with anyone, it remains one of the more popular computer manufacturers of the last two decades.

Dabs sells this Packard Bell Dot S netbook via its eBay outlet for £110 with 109 Nectar Points and free delivery. It is refurbished though and comes with only 90 days warranty. However, you can boost that up to a year thanks to an optional add on which costs an extra £25 bringing the total cost of the transaction to £134.94.

The specification of the laptop is as follows. A dual-core Intel Atom processor, the N2600, clocked at 1.6GHz with 1GB of RAM, a 320GB hard disk drive, a 10.1in display with a 1,024 x 600 pixel resolution, up to eight hours battery life, Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi, Windows 7 Starter, three USB 2.0 ports, a HDMI one, a webcam and a rather likable, if boring, design.

It is shame that netbooks haven't had a much longer lifespan and one must wonder what shape the current market would have been if Intel had decided to back the OLPC/XO project earlier.
