Leap Motion controller arrives in UK with £69.99 price tag

The Leap Motion controller, a gesture-based peripheral that brings 3D motion controls to any PC with a USB port, is now available in the UK.

Having previously listed the device for pre-order, Amazon has sent Leap Motion ordering (opens in new tab) live, with the 3in-long control costing £69.99.

Punters who got in early should begin receiving the gadget from today, while subsequent orders placed will be delivered in line with Amazon's usual range of shipping options, which include a next-day choice.

Leap Motion claims that its diminutive controller is accurate up to 1/100th of a millimetre, enabling touch-free control of your computer within an interactive space of up to eight cubic feet.

"Leap Motion enhances the computing experience to allow people to do things in new and better ways, and we're committed to breaking down the barriers between people and technology to make the future more easily accessible," said Leap Motion co-founder and CEO Michael Buckwald.

In addition to making its eponymous controller available in the UK, Leap Motion recently opened up its Airspace app store, which launched with more 75 paid and free apps built by devs across 20 countries.

The Leap Motion controller will be compatible with Mac OS X 10.7 and 10.8, as well as Microsoft Windows 7 and Windows 8. (opens in new tab)
