Deal: £129 Lenovo IdeaTab A2107 3G tablet

Currys retails the Lenovo IdeaTab A2107 3G tablet for £120, a price that includes 60 days free mobile Wi-Fi as well as a £20 voucher to be spent instore when you buy the tablet with a case.

The device runs on a single-core Mediatek MTK6575, a 1GHz part that is based on the Cortex-A9 SoC. Other features include Android 4.0 ICS, a 7in display with a 1,024 x 600 pixel resolution, 16GB onboard storage, a mnicroSD card slot, GPS, a front and rear camera, up to 10 hours battery life and 1GB RAM.

Competitors to this tablet include the Asus Fonepad which can also make calls as well as the soon-to-be-released new Google Nexus 7 one. Note that the IdeaTab A2107 comes as an unlocked device.

It is a shame that 3G functionality is not more prevalent on most tablets on the market and that those that carry it come with a much higher premium. As for 4G, there are only a handful of tablets, like the Sony Xperia Tablet Z and the Apple iPad 4 that are compatible.
