Cloud-based enterprise video platform Kontiki has announced it is expanding its presence in Europe in partnership with global data centre company Equinix.
The strategic tie-up will see Kontiki gain a major new point of presence (PoP) at the LD5 International Business Exchange, one of Platform Equinix's five London-based data centre campus.
"Kontiki is a global company with ambitions to significantly expand its presence in Europe. Equinix is a perfect strategic match for this expansion. Setting up in a UK data centre was vital to the commitment to supporting our growing European customer base with a data management system located in the EU," said Craig Gordon, VP of worldwide sales at Kontiki.
He continued: "Expanding our use of Platform Equinix will significantly reduce latency and enhance performance for these customers."
The announcement further expands the relationship between the two firms, with Kontiki already operating three PoPs in Equinix's Silicon Valley campuses.
As well as helping it set up shop in the UK, the deal with see Kontiki gain access to the Equinix Marketplace, which features more than 4,000 potential partners, customers, and suppliers.
