Deal: New Asus Nexus 7 (2013) gets first discount

Head over PC World to preorder the new Google Nexus 7 tablet, either in 16GB or 32GB versions, with a £10 discount off the suggested retail prices of £200 and £240 respectively. You will need to enter the voucher code TAB100 at checkout. The devices won't be available for collection until mid-September though and there's always the chance of other retailers cutting the prices of the new tablets even further.

The new Asus Nexus 7 was announced last week and has proved to be a stunner, providing some incredible value for money and making life for (other) tablets costing between £150 and £250, that little bit more difficult.

In a nutshell, it comes with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro system-on-chip clocked at 1.5GHz, 2GB of RAM, 16GB onboard storage, a micro USB port, a 1,920 x 1,200 pixel IPS display with a Gorilla glass overlay, a rear 5-megapixel camera and a front 1.2-megapixel one, NFC, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, a battery life of up to nine hours thanks to a 15Whr battery and two months free mobile Wi-Fi from PC World.
