Online retailer Expansys has surprisingly slashed the price of the Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphone to a mere £215. The next lowest price for that smartphone is £285 from Amazon. At that price, the Galaxy S3, arguably the most popular smartphone of its generation, becomes the cheapest quad-core smartphone with classic Cortex-A9 cores (rather than Cortex-A7 ones).
One might even argue that at this price, it has become the best smartphone on the market, pound-for-pound, at half the price of its successor, the Samsung Galaxy S4. The handset introduced new features like the Smart Stay, the S Voice, Direct Call and Smart Alert.
It is powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz with 1GB of RAM, a 4.8in Super AMOLED HD display with a 1,280 x 720 pixel resolution with Corning Gorilla Glass 2, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, a microSD card slot, a rear 8-megapixel camera, a front-facing 2-megapixel one, a 2,100mAh battery and TouchWiz UI.
