BlackBerry may be readying a new Porsche Design device after leaked images reportedly showed a version of a Z10 with the car firm’s distinctive line of technology branding.
Photos of the device, leaked on Tinhte, and reported by Engadget, show the new handset with the words ‘Porsche Design’ emblazoned across the top of a version of the recently released Z10.
The phone, which will be called P’9982, has a carbon fibre shell like other Porsche Design items and shares other style points that are seen across other pieces of technology given a makeover by the motorcar manufacturer’s design house.
Pictures of the back side of the phone show a plain black exterior with the company’s logo in the middle and the side shows a mini USB port and the distinctive Porsche Design logo.
In addition to this, N4BB are reporting the device will retail at $2,000 [£1,307] and the phone will run on the company’s BlackBerry 10 OS.
BlackBerry’s Z10 was supposed to announce the firm’s return to the top table of phone vendors but instead it has been beset with problems. Consumers have shunned the Z10 with the device seeing price cuts across a number of different retailers as it fails to challenge the likes of Apple’s iPhone 5 and the Samsung Galaxy S4.
The company CEO has pleaded for patience with investors as the company readies the launch of the successor to the Z10, the A10, which is expected to hit the shelves of retailers in the autumn.
