Deal: £58 WD MyNet Central N900 Gigabit storage router with 1TB NAS drive

What would happen if you merged a NAS drive and a wireless router? That's probably how the engineers at WD ended up designing the MyNet Central N900.

This combines a wireless router with four gigabit Ethernet ports, a USB connection, dual-band 802.11n, with a 1TB hard disk drive. It costs only £57.99 via PC World's outlet on eBay and comes with free delivery and 58 Nectar points

Simple and very effective as you end up with a much smaller device (rather than having two separate entities) and one that doesn't consume as much power.

WD also included a proprietary feature called FasTrack Plus which manages your network traffic to make sure that it prioritises streaming content. In other words, it does traffic shaping within your own network.

As this is a WD device, you do get backup software plus two free applications, WD 2go and WD Photos viewer. It is a shame though that the USB port is a USB 2.0 model and bear in mind that you won't be able to upgrade the hard drive.
