Google Nexus 7 32GB cleared out ahead of launch of new Nexus 7 tablet

As expected, we are now seeing some significant drop in the price of the original Google Nexus 7 tablet, days after the new Nexus 7 was launched. Tesco Direct is selling it for a mere £149 thanks to a voucher code (TDX-WL3M) which cuts the price by £10 and makes it £91 cheaper than the 32GB version of its successor.

Delivery is not included but there's a complimentary one-year SquareTrade drops & spills accidental damage cover included on selected tablets & e-readers.

The Google Nexus 7 changed the dynamics of the tablet market when it was introduced last year. It offered some significant improvements on existing models at an affordable price and caused other manufacturers to raise their game, with the notable exception of Samsung, whose Galaxy Tab 3.0 still feature dated components.

As a reminder, the first version of the Nexus 7 tablet comes with a 7in display with a 1,280 x 800 pixel IPS display, 1GB of RAM, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, a quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 SoC clocked at 1.3GHz, 32GB onboard storage and nearly 10 hours battery life.
