Applications are now being accepted for CODE_n14, a global competition aiming to discover the startups that represent the avant-garde of the big data movement.
Early-stage ventures whose business models are based on big data technologies have until 31 October, 2013 to apply for CODE_n, with the top 50 applicants rewarded with the opportunity to present their solutions at CeBIT 2014.
"How organisations capture, create and use data is changing the way we work and live...Re-imagining this topic is really exciting for us and I'm delighted this topic is being embraced by CODE_n," commented Helen Thomas, head of CODE_n UK.
The partnership with CeBIT will see CODE_n command its own hall at the annual European IT showcase, set to take place in Hannover, Germany in March 2014.
Some of the specific fields expected to be represented include the financial services, healthcare, telecommunications, automotive engineering and energy production.
As well as enjoying a major platform for their solutions, the 50 young companies selected by the contest will benefit from exclusive support from field-relevant industry leaders throughout the showcase. In addition, the overall winner of CODE_n14 will walk away with €30,000 (£26,000) in prize money.
"CODE_n has brought many innovative business models to CeBIT over the last two years, spreading the spirit of Silicon Valley a little bit closer to home. We would like to take this further in 2014. With the topic of big data, CODE_n is keeping its finger on the pulse of business, and visitors to CeBIT can be sure they are in for exciting themes in Hall 16," added Oliver Frese, managing board member at Deutsche Messe, the organisation responsible for CeBIT.
Standing for Code of the New, Code_N was founded in 2011 by the GFT Group with the aim of stimulating and accelerating innovation in key enterprise technology fields through the discovery of new talent.
