The E130 ThinkPad Edge by Chinese manufacturer Lenovo costs only £199 at the online outlet from the manufacturer, almost half its suggested retail price. But that doesn't meant that it is a low-specced device; far from that!
It runs on an Intel Pentium 977, a dual-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz with 2MB L3 cache and support for 1333MHz DDR3.
Other features include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 (although the description says no BT), a 6-cell Lithium Ion Battery, a 320GB hard disk drive spinning at 7,200PRM, 4GB of RAM, a webcam, Intel HD graphics, Windows 7 Home Premium (with no upgrade path to Windows 8), an UltraNav TrackPoint and TouchPad plus an 11.6in display with a 1,366 x 768 resolution.
Connectivity options are a HDMI port, VGA, an Ethernet one, three USB ports plus a card reader. Lenovo chose a red (electric) colour scheme for the Lenovo E130 ThinkPad Edge, something that may put off some buyers.
Also somewhat disappointing is the fact that the E130 is quite bulky compared to a standard netbook.
