Deal: £134 Asus Google Nexus 7 tablet 32GB

If you won't want to spend extra to get the new version of the Google Nexus 7 tablet, you can still opt to buy the old model which is currently being discounted by a fair few retailers. Tesco for example is selling the refurbished version of the Google Nexus 7 (the 32GB model) for £134, sans the Nectar points, that's around £100 less than the price of the comparable Nexus 7 MK2.

The device was unveiled a year ago and garnered rave reviews, prompting many tablet manufacturers to either "put up or shut up" with the notable exception of Samsung which continued to roll out uninspired 7in tablets like the Galaxy Tab 3 or the Galaxy Tab 2.

The Nexus 7 offered (then) cutting edge technology at affordable prices; you get a quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 system-on-chip clocked at 1.2GHz, 1GB of RAM, 32GB onboard storage, Wi-Fi, a 7in display with a 1,280 x 800 pixel resolution, a front-facing camera, Android 4.1 Jelly bean and Bluetooth.

The new version of the Nexus 7 adds a rear camera, more onboard system memory, a better system-on-chip and a much higher resolution. Check out our review of the original Nexus 7 tablet here.
