Deal: £179 Nokia Lumia 820 Windows Phone 8 smartphone

Tesco sells the SIM-free version of the Nokia Lumia 820 Windows Phone 8 smartphone for a mere £179 (use the code TDX-MJGQ at check out to get a £20 discount). That's a stonking £120 rebate off the SRP of £299. The price includes 179 Clubcard points and free delivery and makes it actually a very good alternative to the just released Nokia Lumia 625.

The Lumia 820 shares a lot of features with the top of the range Lumia 920. The former is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC, the MSM8960 which is clocked at 1.5GHz, has two cores and an 4G/LTE modem.

Other notable specs include 1GB of RAM, Dolby headphones sound enhancement, 8GB onboard storage, a microSD card slot, a 4.3in display with a 800 x 480 pixel resolution and ClearBlack technology, an 8-megapixel rear camera with full HD video recording, a front-facing one, up to 14 hours battery life plus as expected an array of Nokia applications (Nokia Here, Nokia Mix Music etc).
