We loved the Asus Eee Pad Transformer tablet, otherwise known as the TF101, when it was launched two years ago. It has been a big success for the Taiwanese company and managed to position it as an innovator.
The original tablet is currently available with a docking station for as little as £199 direct from Asus' online outlet and without for £149. You also get a free screen protector as well.
Compared to the current crop of tablet, it does feel its age although, other than the processor, the rest of the hardware is still mainstream. Its main pain point is the dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 that is clocked at 1GHz.
There's also 1GB of RAM, 16GB onboard storage, a 10.1in full IPS display with a 1,280 x 800 pixel resolution, a rear 5-megapixel display and a front facing 1.2-megapixel one, SRS surround sound, a microSD card slot, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Polaris Office and a 24.4Whr battery.
The keyboard docking station adds an island-style keyboard, adds 16 hours battery life, two USB 2.0 ports and a SD card reader.
