I wonder how Acer manages to do that. If you want to get a computer that runs Windows 8 (the full fat version, not Windows RT) and comes with Microsoft Office application suite, then the Acer Iconia W3-810 tablet, currently on sale at PC World for £279 is your most affordable option yet.
In a nutshell, you get a device that runs on an Intel Atom Z2760 processor clocked at 1.8GHz with 2GB of RAM, a 32GB SSD, an 8in display with a 1,280 x 800 pixel resolution, a front-facing 2-megapixel camera, microUSB and microHDMI ports, Bluetooth 4.0, a 2-cell battery that can power it for up to eight hours and a number of applications provided by Acer.
Given that the W810 does come with a card reader, I'd recommend getting rid of most of these bundled applications (e.g. Spotify, Yahoo Search) to free up some space. Note that Microsoft Office Home and Student 2013, which comes with the tablet carries an SRP of £89 and Windows 8 costs around £60, which means that the standalone price of this device is roughly £130.
