Sometimes, you have to wonder whether Samsung has not become a bit lazy preferring to focus on the upper end of the market and delivering sub-optimal value for money at the lower end of it.
The Galaxy Grand Duo smartphone, otherwise known as the GT-I9082, exemplifies that comment. It is on sale on eBay via e_cell for £245 plus 245 Nectar points.
It comes with two SIM card slots (hence the name), a dual-core processor with a 1.2GHz clock speed, a 5in display with a 800 x 480 pixel resolution, 1GB of RAM, 8GB onboard storage, a rear 8-megapixel camera plus a front-facing 2-megapixel one, Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, a 2,100mAh battery and a card reader.
We fail to see the logic of shoving an 8-megapixel camera on a handset whose screen only handles a WVGA resolution.
There are certainly better options at slightly more expensive price ranges. The Samsung Galaxy S3 for example costs £285 and is much better than the Galaxy Grand Duos although you lose on the screen display and the dual SIM feature.
